Ed Richmond W4MGN (now W4YO) operated from Africa between 1979 and 1983. In the summer of 1982 his wanderings took him to the Indian Ocean where, among other places, he operated at the station of Gerard, FH8CL. Two years later Gerard and his XYL Kathy visited Ed in Atlanta
