Program:  The 3B7C Story

Presented by:
Neville Cheadle, G3NUG

Our program for April will be very special AND will be a week later than usual this month but at the regular time, 7:30p.  We have persuaded Neville Cheadle, DXer and DXpeditioner extraordinaire, to visit with us on his way to Visalia.  His program will be "The 3B7C Story -- 137,500 QSOs without any sunspots -- Everything went to plan until there was a murder in Port Louis."  Neville will not reveal whether or not he has ridden on the Orient Express, but let's ask him anyway.

Neville is a driving force behind the Chiltern DX Club, the UK DX Foundation and the .  He is a veteran of many DXpeditions including D68C, 9M0C, 3B7C, and 3B9C.  All those islands have apparently gotten into his blood, as he is a very active force in the Island Radio Expedition Foundation which funds many IOTA expeditions.  Not to be outdone by Stow-on-the-Wold, Neville hails from Middleton on the Hill, once visited by Bilbo Baggins, and when at home is surrounded by his hounds at Lower Withers Barns.  Neville is a dynamic speaker, and this will be a "must attend" memorable meeting.

Because Neville will attract an unusually large crowd, the April meeting will NOT be held on our normal evening but rather on April 23rd and not at our normal location.  Instead, we will meet in the Southern Polytechnic State University auditorium where we hosted W3UR last year.  A map which shows the location of the room on the Southern Poly campus can be found HERE.  The campus is at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060-2896 (678-915-7778).

Many SEDXC members gather for dinner just prior to each club meeting.  This time we plan to gather at the Marietta Diner, which is very close to the Southern Poly campus and can accommodate a large crowd.  The diner is at 306 Cobb Parkway South, Marietta, GA 30060 (770 423 9390).  Be prepared for some very deep pies for desert.  It is rated as one of the top three diners in the Atlanta area, and sports an excellent wine list.

Please invite anyone who might be interested in DXing to attend this meeting.  And bring your best raffle prizes.  Last year's top raffle sales occurred at our Southern Poly meeting.
