At our February 2009 meeting, Tim Lemmon WK4U presented a program about using Linux with ham radio. To support his talk, he passed out CDs with a bootable version of Linux called Ubuntu.
We've put the user guide AND the .iso file on our website so you can download them. Following are instructions on how to do that and, once done, how to burn a CD from the .iso file.
You cannot simply copy this file to a CD, but must do so using an ISO burn program such as Active@ISO Burner which is freeware. With your CD you will be able to boot Linux on almost any PC, install it on a PC or install it within an existing Windows system. A second file, a free pocket guide to Linux, is also available on our site.
Downloading the .iso and UserGuide .pdf files
- Visit our Downloads page and downloed the Ubuntu Pocket Guide .pdf and the Unbuntu Linux Bootable CD image file (.iso). Make sure you have plenty of disk space; the .iso file is 73MB!
- Download an .iso burner program; here's one HERE.

Beats me! This area will be fleshed out soon.
