Paul Ewing N6PSE is a retired Information Technology & Security consultant. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from St. Mary’s College. Paul was an early Internet pioneer running the systems, networks and datacenters for such Internet companies as eBay, Yahoo and Google during their early years. He has been an amateur radio operator since 1982. Since 1992 he has been a serious DXer and he loves to travel and participate in DXpeditions. He was the leader of the April 2010 YI9PSE Iraq DXpedition. He was the Co-Leader of the STØR DXpedition to the new country of the Republic of South Sudan, July-August 2011. He was a member of the 3D2R-Rotuma Island DXpedition in Sept-Oct, 2011, a member of the ET3AA team from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, December, 2011, a member of the 7O6T Team from Socotra, Yemen, May 2012. He was the Co-Leader of the 3D2C Conway Reef Dxpedition in September, 2012. He was a member of the XZ1J Myanmar DXpedition, November15-26th, 2013. He was the Co-Leader of the March 2015 DXpedition to Eritrea, as E3ØFB. He is the Co-leader of the January, 2016 Dxpedition to South Sandwich and South Georgia Islands. He has operated from Turkey, Egypt, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Montenegro. He enjoyed his visit to Mount Athos and with Monk Apollo in 2012. Paul is a Life member of the ARRL and an A-1 Operator and he supports the NCDXF and INDEXA. He is the founder of the Intrepid-DX Group (www.Intrepid-DX.com), and he is a member of the Palo Alto Amateur Radio Association, Utah DX Association, Araucaria DX Group and the World-Wide DX Group. Paul was honored by the Northern California DX Club as their DXer of the Year for 2012. He recently travelled extensively throughout the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) and is leading an effort to conduct a DXpedition from the DPRK. Paul has been interviewed by the BBC, Voice of America and NPR. He publishes a Blog. His station consists of an Elecraft K3, P3 and KPA500 and an Alpha 9500 when true QRO is needed He uses a SteppIR DB36 at 75' for 40-6 meters and an inverted vee dipole for 80/160 meters. Paul has approximately 323 (mixed) entities confirmed on SSB/CW/RTTY. His proudest accomplishments are that his 16-year-old son Ryan-N6RYN and his 26-year-old daughter Michelle-KJ6DOM enjoy amateur radio almost as much as he does.
